Top Steam Games You Should Be Playing on Chromebook
Steam features countless titles, so we’ve gone through the hassle of rounding the best games on this platform that you have to play on your Chromebook. If you’re struggling to install Steam, here’s one of our articles that provide a detailed guide. Nevertheless, let’s get straight to it then.
1. Dota 2
Our first venture into the list is Defense of The Ancients, or more popularly known as Dota 2. It’s a game that has aged extremely well and was a giant in the industry back in the day. This chaotic MOBA-style game has brought the absolute best that Steam has had to offer over the years, with millions of dollars generated in revenue and being at the center of the esports hub.
One of the best reasons why so many have picked Dota up is because it’s free and always has been. Apart from that, the gameplay is what keeps you hooked and addicted, as the playstyle is very rewarding. It’s one of those great games that are easy to learn but insanely hard to master. With that being said, Dota involves a variety of game modes, bizarre characters with terrific abilities to choose from, and tumultuous arenas – all combined with ultra-smooth game mechanics. Get it on Steam today.
2. Portal 2

3. CS: GO
Another hefty Valve production and a frontrunner in the esports scene is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Growing up, you just might have played the original, free-to-play online Counter-Strike 1.6, but the Global Offensive sequel is simply the big, bad brother. CS: GO boasts old-fashioned gameplay compared to today’s modern first-person shooters but still manages to hold its stance very well.
Like Dota 2, CS: GO is also free to enjoy on Steam, and you can get it rolling as soon as you can. The game hosts a comprehensive array of weapons and accessories, fast and action-packed gameplay, and smooth mechanics – basically everything that a great FPS can offer you. Millions still play CS: GO online, and the competitive scene still sprawls with vigor and intense play. The game doesn’t have heavy requirements, thanks to its no-frills graphics so that you can experience it painlessly on your Chromebook.
4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
If your Chromebook can handle this divine masterpiece, then look no further than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It’s a massively open-world free roam RPG that puts you in the shoes of the mighty Geralt of Rivia. As you progress in the game, you recruit other units and form a squad of your own.
Surviving in Kenshi’s harsh environment is extremely difficult for life, so you have to do everything to make a name for yourself. The game involves advancing to the point where you can make full-fledged towns by bringing in people from other factions. Besides, other factors play their role quite significantly. This is a terrible list. When running Steam via LInux on Chromebook, Steam does not support any controllers, no matter how they are connected. ChromeOS itself recognizes controllers, but the underlying LInux container which Steam runs in does not. Therefore a majority of the games listed would SUCK to play on Steam for Chromebooks, as you would need to use keyboard to play all of them. Pretty sure you just pulled top 50 Steam games compatible with Linux version of Steam…?
The majority of these games aren’t even compatible on a chromebook with Linux and can’t be installed in the first place.
This is the worst article even for by game journalist standards. You have just copied the most popular games with absolutely no regard for the playing on a chrome book part.
