15 of the best Play Store games on Chrome OS
The following is our round-up of the most noteworthy games present on the Play Store that users can enjoy on their Chromebooks today. Be sure to read until the end for the best results.
1. Asphalt 9: Legends
Asphalt 9: Legends is the most up-to-date and modern iteration in the globally renowned Asphalt franchise for mobile gaming. With a plethora of updates and consistent content addition, you become the driver behind the wheel of more than 150 A-grade supercars in dynamically changing real-life locations.
Various playable maps are included in Asphalt 9: Legends that are inspired by real-life locations. If you’re fond of racing games, you’ll see similarities between this title and other, more professional-grade ones. Still, the title’s uniqueness is its inclusion of collision-centric elements and several do-or-die scenarios that pump the thrill like no other.
What makes the gameplay of Asphalt 9: Legends even more enticing is that it’s not just an average car racing game. You can perform various stunts with your vehicle as you launch yourself in the sky and leave your opponents in the dust.
The title features manual controls for competitive scenarios and a more easy way of playing called “TouchDrive.” Using the latter, you can automate vehicular controls and let the AI assist you in racing your friends. However, if you feel as if this isn’t for you, feel free to take your supercar fully into your hands and run away like a blazing champion.
2. Subway Surfers
Subway Surfers is one of the most popular Android games ever. It currently sits proudly at one billion+ downloads on the Google Play Store and has more than 38 million reviews vouching for its name. It’s a top-rated title that you genuinely shouldn’t miss out on when looking to try some of the best games to play on your Chromebook. Quite ironically, the aim of Subway Surfers isn’t too advanced nor too next-level.
Instead, it belongs to the subgenre of endless runners, where your main objective is to hold your ground for as long as possible. In an endless runner, the game never ends. You’re the one who ends it after running into an obstacle in an unsavable manner, thereby finishing the session for good. In Subway Surfers, this is the exact ideology. You have to run for an infinite amount of time until you give out and set a high score.
3. Roblox

This title brings forth an exceptionally unique concept to the mobile gaming space, pitting players against each other in a gripping game of friendship and betrayal. The gameplay of Among Us is somewhat linear, but the mainline plot featured in the title is nothing but exceptional.
The aim of the game is seen from two different although distinct perspectives. You’re either the impostor or a crewmate, and your role is designated at the start of each round. If you’re a crewmate, your purpose is to complete all the tasks scattered around the different parts of the spaceship you’re traveling on. Apart from that, another way to win the bout is by voting out the impostor. Didn’t get that? Let us explain.
An impostor is someone who takes on the shape of someone you know and pretends to be them under their disguise. Their real intentions and ulterior motives significantly differ. In the case of Among Us, the impostor has to make their way around the spaceship, discover newer tactics, and strategize to kill off all the crewmates. You can sabotage the different tasks given to regular players to spread chaos and disrupt the normal working of the shuttle.
When playing with your friends locally or online, Among Us becomes the most fun. Additionally, the game is optimized to run on Chromebooks, so you can expect a smooth time trying the title out. I have a Chromebook, Android 11 OS, 64bit, i3-1115g4, 8 ram, etc, and Genshin will not run. I emailed their support because based off of the minimum specs it should be able to run. Genshin support said that it cannot run on Chrome OS regardless of having Android available. This site is pretty misleading unless yall have found a way around it.
