Having bought your shiny new Chromebook, the first thing you might probably be curious about is how to change the wallpaper background. Whether your Chromebook is a touchscreen tablet or a regular clamshell laptop, all Chromebooks run Chrome OS wherein the method of changing the desktop wallpaper is the same. In this article, we shall be showing you just that.

Step 1) After logging into your Chromebook, right-click on your desktop and select Set wallpaper. If you have a Chromebook tablet, you will have to double-tap to invoke the right-click on the desktop.

Step 2) Chrome OS comes built-in with several wallpapers from various categories, including Cityscapes, Landscapes, Composition, Leisure, Dessert time, Colors, illustrations, Art, and Solid colors. Additionally, you can select your image if you like that way.

Auto-Refresh the Wallpaper Daily
Step 3) City Scapes and Landscapes categories of wallpapers on a Chromebook comes with an additional option to automatically change the wallpaper daily. While in the category, turn ON the option Daily Refresh and you won’t see the same desktop background daily.

Clicking on the Explore button takes you to the artist’s web page where the image got downloaded from so that you can explore their additional backgrounds.
For some reason, if right-click on the desktop is not working to bring the context menu, don’t worry, there is still a way to get to the Wallpaper Preferences.
From the Status bar, click on time and then click on the Settings icon.
